Innovative technology for coating car keys

The vehicle key as an overall work of art: small, compact and yet with the highest requirements. Of course, a luxury car also needs a key whose feel and look reflect the value of the car. We finish keys with partial chrome surfaces that are scratch-resistant, abrasion-resistant and chemical-resistant.

This makes a so-called “non-conductive” (NCVM) – i.e. electrically non-conductive – chrome surface necessary. This coating is intended to prevent a Faraday cage and thus the shielding of radio signals between the vehicle key and the vehicle.

Our implementation

Using the PVD process, we adjust the electrical conductivity precisely to your customer requirements and reduce or increase it as needed.

We can use the process to produce conductive layers for shielding, dissipating electrostatics or as an EMC layer, as well as high-impedance layers that hardly affect radio, radar and sensors.
