In many branches, surfaces with a metallic appearance are much in demand. Silcos has the perfect response: Physical vapour deposition (PVD) – decorative and functional technology for attaching wafer-thin metal layers to a wide variety of plastics and even flexible materials.
In recent years, the requirements in terms of material surfaces as regards form and function have increased tremendously. Besides decorative effects, surfaces have to fulfill functional aspects and must be smooth and electrically conductive, dirt resistant, durable against external environmental influences such as friction, cold and heat.
We develop and produce closed user interfaces in 3D silicone - especially for areas which require maximum hygiene, unique feel, attractive design and perfect function. These surfaces come in to play in clinically clean as well as the most hostile environments. These innovative user surfaces also allow for extremely flat design with 3-D contours. In addition, for a variety of functions, only one component is required, which considerably reduces costs.
One cannot emphasize this enough: Nowadays enormous demands are placed on surfaces - even complex three-dimensional geometries are used for decoration and must produce certain optical effects.
Silicone keypads are used to – either directly or indirectly – carry out a “switch function” with an underlying circuit board or another circuit carrier. In the meantime, silicone keypads have become indispensable, for example, in entertainment electronics and telecommunications.
